Ante un accidente de tránsito:
Los involucrados deben detenerse de inmediato y proporcionar sus datos de licencia de conducir y seguro a la otra parte y a la autoridad presente. Si no pueden hacerlo, deben dejar esos datos en el vehículo dañado. También es necesario informar del incidente a la autoridad competente y, de ser requerido, presentarse y declarar ante la autoridad judicial o administrativa cuando sean citados.Estas obligaciones nacen de lo establecido en el artículo 65 de la ley de tránsito 24449.
Denuncia de accidente:
El tomador o derechohabiente informará al asegurador sobre el siniestro dentro de los tres días siguientes a su conocimiento (art. 46 de la ley 17418 – Ley de Seguros – ).
Puede efectuarse por este medio o llamar directamente a los teléfonos de la compañía.
En caso de haber lesiones tenga presente que deberá acatar las indicaciones de la autoridad actuante, limitándose a proporcionar la información básica del siniestro. En esos casos, tanto el conductor como el vehículo podrían haberse a retenciones policiales.
Nunca deberá expedir pagos por su cuenta bajo ninguna índole.
